Can an employer change to a Private Disability insurance without tell the employees?

We just found out at work that they now have a private disability insurance company and not through the state. can they change without tell any of us? we don't even know what we are entitled to if we need it. we only found out because on our pay stubs next to disability it says exempt.

The private disability might be cheaper. It is the employer's plan and he has the right to buy a private one. I don't know in New Jersey whether he can stop paying into the state plan or not.

I also have issues with employer. I posted my question on wish123 and got an answer from an expert who solved my problems. Highly recommend the website.
