If a window leaks, and the warranty is over, does regular house insurance COVER the damages caused by the leaking window?...as in hardwood floor damage caused by the leak?
I would say yes ... your insurance should cover damages.
Did you have replacement value insurance??
I don't think it matters anyway... because Floorboards etc damaged due to window leakage.... windows should be repaired and the damages... you may loose a good deal on insurance for the year? way up the difference. I did with my car when reversed into letterbox!!! it was cheaper to pay the $800.00 to repair it because it would have cost me $500 excess but the balance was more because the insurance would go up for the next 2 years.... it can be a scam.
+ my lounge underneath got ruined when the carpet underneath smelt... because of the previous tenants pets!!!! it rained for a week and the smell came through. Dam... x2 carpets and couch... out the door... I claimed insurance on those x3 expensive items.
