We need to get insurance for our 12 week old Golden Retriever puppy. We've had insurance before, but there was no choices. now there are too many... Love to hear from people in the pet insurance industry!
are you serious? Pet insurance, I'm pretty sure they didn't have that when I was a child with a pet. I'm just concerned about getting insurance myself, I've been denied!
Someone else provided some really great links so I will not repeat them. I think insurance is a fantastic thing for you to have as the owner of a golden. I have two of my own, one who has had MAJOR medical issues. Thankfully, we were fostering him during this time so the rescue group footed the bill for them. due to this we got pet insurance for him. of course his broken hip will not be covered if there are future problems but everything else will be. being a large breed dogs goldens are prone to hip issues. with the flopped over ears they are also very prone to ear infections. All of these things plus the normal yearly shots and heartworm medication are covered on most plans. you sound like a very responsible pet owner, I wish you many years of happiness with your golden!
Hello Ross, here in Africa, we are not pet enthusiasts, it will sound eccentric to think of such thing, when a great number of humans do not have insurance cover. It will be interesting to know the result of your inquiry.

Oh, I forgot to mention, you need a bumper sticker to put on your car after that says "My black lab is smarter than your golden" and flaunt it in the ghosthouse parking lot (it's a reply to my ex-boss' sticker "My golden retriever is smarter than your honor student"). I was thinking of getting a sticker that says "My retarded domestic shorthair is smarter than your golden retriever". (LMAO)BMP
