I am trying to get car insurance and all the quotes I'm getting are about 100 dollars a month. I'm in highschool and any of my friends get theirs for like 60 a month. I have a perfect driving history and still it's too high.
Because you're young and have no credit history. IF your friends are getting it that cheap, it's because they're on mommy and daddy's policy. Some of the companies I work for wouldn't even sell you a policy because you're a minor. Get on mom and dads and pay the difference until you're older with a longer driving record and better credit.
Insurance is expensive when you are a young driver, but it is also based on your location, and the type of car you drive. Perhaps your friend drives a more favorable car for insurance purposes.
In any event, the best thing you could do would be to get an online insurance quote. This will compare all companies in your area and find the company that offers you the lowest prices. That way you will be able to see exactly what the cheapest price you would be able to get.

100 a month is not bad for a high school student. you need to be placed on your parents policy if you are under 18. this may help with the premiums as you get any discounts they are getting.
look at your parents driving records. most likely if you are under age the insurance provider does
I am not sure where you live but $100 a month for a highschool student is awesome. I live in Texas and when I was your age, I had to pay $150 a month. Even if you have a perfect driving record it doesn't really matter because you have probably been driving less than 2 years. your rates usually drop after you have had about 5 years with a clean record it also depends on what type of vehicle you are driving and whether or not you are on your parent's policy.
If you feel like you are getting quotes that are too high, keep doing your research. The more quotes you get, the better chance you have of finding the cheapest rate possible.
